Ok Tedi Mine Village Women and Children’s Association executives and members receive the association vehicle & business certificate in Tabubil.

Ok Tedi Mine Village Women and Children’s Association received its business certificate and operations vehicle in Tabubil on 30 July witnessed by the association members, executives, and OTDF. Association president Ms. Elizabeth David offered a word of appreciation to the outgoing president Clara Fred.

“Our association is thankful to the outgoing president Clara Fred. She has set the standards we now build on and we acknowledge that. We are all here to develop our communities and that is our focus”, she said.

Ms. David said the occasion was historic, with the arrival of the associations’ administration vehicle, complemented by the awarding of their IPA business certificate to operate as the Ok Tedi Mine Villages Women & Children’s Association.

She said the certificate was vital for business compliance and the vehicle would support the association’s service delivery to the 6 mine villages.

Ms. David was thankful to OTDF for the ongoing support. “Thank you OTDF for attending to our requests, we will work together to serve our communities”.

The association represents women, youths, and children from the 6 mine villages in the Star Mountains of Western province.
