Ok Tedi Development Foundation (OTDF) is taking the initiative to ensure staff are competent to deliver service using innovative research methods to collect evidence-based information.

Recently, OTDF Livelihood Development program officer Josephine Laka, attended the PNG National Research Institute (NRI) Certificate Program in Social Science Research Methods (SSRM).

Josephine says training opportunities like this promote a positive workforce culture and keep staff motivated and productive in order to achieve OTDF’s goals.

“The training has enhanced my research skills needed for application in the workplace.

Furthermore, it has enabled a greater understanding of research theory and methods for applied research, including research designs and ethics, data analysis, interpretation and reporting.

This training is timely as OTDF is seeing an increase in programs through collaborative work with external donor funding.

It will prove very useful in the monitoring and evaluation of programs going forward.”

She thanked the OTDF Management for allowing her to attend, participate and learn.
