THE ROLE – TEAM LEADER – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
This role will be responsible for leading and motivating the business development team to drive growth of CMCA Trust Regional Companies and Women Investment Companies by identifying, developing, and nurturing new business opportunities, fostering best financial management systems and business management practices.
The key role and responsibility of the Team Leader – Business Development is to:
- Will play a lead role in assisting BDO’s in areas of accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, monthly/quarterly financial reporting, statutory compliances (IPA & IRC) and other accounting associated tasks for local companies coordinated by the Business Development section.
- Oversee implementation of financial management system for Accounting & Compliance Support Services using the QuickBooks Accounting System for local companies.
- Formulate and implement standard business management policies and procedures’ and provide operations support for all local companies.
- Lead in market research to identify viable business opportunities and potential clients and develop strategies to achieve growth of local companies
- Effectively communicate and maintain relationship with the shareholders and key stakeholders including, OTML, Contractors, FRPG, JV Partners, NGO’s and other departments in within OTDF/OTML.
- Monitoring and Evaluation of CMCA SME’s.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPIRIENCE
The following skills, qualifications, work experiences and attributes preferred for this role are:
- University Degree [Business Management, or other Business-Related Discipline from a recognized University]
- 4-7 years exposure/experience in Business Management and or Operations Management roles, contract management, project management preferably in the Natural Resources Extractive Sector.
- Thorough understanding of the PNG Economy and general understanding on the international business environment with businesses in focus of sustainable growth, different cultural values, rural community challenges and community development agenda.
- Demonstrate the ability to network with wide range of stakeholders in local community business development and programs/projects.
- The ability to readily grasp financial technical issues and relate them to communities’ day-to-day business concerns.
- Capability to think and deal with issues within the section/department with the ability to contribute at higher management status.
- High level strategic capacity local SME’s development services
- Ability to use strategic intuition to identify value creation opportunities across the section as part of Support Services in above areas, including safety management.
